According to Yves St. Laurent, “Fashions fade…style is eternal”.
There are few out there in the world of clothing design and manufacturing who better understand and value the quality and timelessness of a luxury garment than our client. With pieces that integrate both European and North American style and sensibilities, they have proudly designed and manufactured accessible luxury clothing in Montreal for many decades. Their collections are sold at major retailers both in Canada and the USA, with showrooms in Montreal, Toronto, and New York.
But just as styles and fabrics have evolved to embrace the contemporary consumer, this iconic Montreal manufacturer is poised to bring on new senior leaders as their some of their longstanding leadership team transitions to retirement. A key element in a smooth transition to the next generation of leaders is to bring a new Vice President, Finance.
This is a senior finance leadership role focused on working closely with the President and CEO providing strategic finance direction to the business. As with any entrepreneurial business, there will be elements of hands-on operational finance oversight as they transition from the out-going finance leader to the future. While it is not a transformation, it will be an evolution requiring respect for what has come before and patience and enthusiasm for what can be. A smooth but succinct transition to the future is the goal.
The successful candidate must be a strategic thinker and advisor, able to gauge when change vs transformation is required, as well as the pace and approach with new ideas and people. They must be able to build trust with the CEO and other senior leaders across the organization. Strong finance and accounting skills, an exacting attention to detail are a given. And what will set this individual apart…a passion for learning the business, the industry, and an appreciation for the rich history of the brand, and the beauty and quality of their garments.
For the right person, this is an exceptional opportunity.
